Apples & Pears Entertainment (APE) is a leading corporate & private entertainment agency, and provides one of the most trusted event entertainment production services Australia has to offer. APE’s website was in desperate need of a refresh so Digital Thing was engaged to develop a high-performing website that would be simple to manage internally. The site needed to provide efficient searchable database of over 1500+ artists that APE manage across the globe. Digital Thing developed a custom WordPress site and delivered an intuitive user experience across all devices.

The APE website was custom-designed by Digital Thing and built in WordPress. We closely adhered to the APE style guide to ensure consistency across different channels, with the website optimised for viewing across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Digital Thing developed a powerful AJAX driven artist directly to allow users to easily find artists for specific category and adhere to best SEO practices to maximise exposure/ranking of all artists listed on the website. We also integrated the WordPress Content Management System and developed a highly-customised backend so APE could tailor the content of each page and manage artist efficiently.
Outcome
The new website proved effective at engaging and retaining visitors, driving a significant increase in ‘average time on site’ and a substantial decrease in ‘bounce rate’. With also a responsive web design that improved the user experience across all devices.
The new site architecture and WordPress CMS integration were also successful, simplifying the publishing of content and website administration for APE staff, and handling the large artists database thats constantly changing.
