Gender Equality Toolbox
Measuring Empowerment
The Gender Equality Toolbox is a collection of tools designed for staff at The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help improve the lives of women and girls around the world. Digital Thing was approached to design a website that would allow their globally dispersed staff, along with staff at other non-profit organisations around the world, access to the tools and essential information about gender equality. The new website has been a major success, resulting in a huge increase in traffic and overwhelmingly positive feedback from users.
Solution
Digital Thing used WordPress and a Custom WordPress Theme was developed for Gender Equality Toolbox website. Given the large amounts of information that needed to be accessible and the comprehensive online toolset, the website was designed with a simple, clean interface to provide seamless and intuitive navigation. The responsive design also ensures that the site is accessible on all devices, making it easy for users to access the toolbox on the go.
The website is powered by a custom-built content management system that allows administrators to easily add, edit, and remove resources. Digital Thing also ensured that the website was accessible to all users by adhering to web accessibility guidelines and making it easy for users with disabilities to navigate the site.
Outcome
Since the launch of the Gender Equality Toolbox website, it has become a go-to resource for individuals and organisations working towards gender equality. The user-friendly interface and responsive design implemented by Digital Thing have made it easy for users to find the information they need, and the website has received positive feedback from users around the world, with many citing it as a valuable resource in their work towards gender equality.
